How it Works

NBN New Development

1. Submit the NBN New Development Application (NDA)

We lodge your NDA with NBN, including project details such as address, number of lots, and development type. NBN then issues a Development Reference (DN number) for the project.

2. NBN Sends Agreement & Fees

NBN provides a Developer Agreement and invoice. Once paid, the design stage can begin.

3. NBN Design Stage

PEEC prepares your full NBN design, including:

  • Pit & pipe layout

  • Conduits and pits

  • Lead-in pathways

  • MDU internal wiring (if required)

All designs are compliant with NBN standards for WA developments.

4. NBN Review & Redlines

NBN reviews the design for compliance. If they request changes (redlines), PEEC updates the plans quickly to keep your project moving.

Western Power Process

Understanding how the Western Power application process works can save you weeks of delays and unnecessary costs. Whether you are building, subdividing, upgrading power, or applying for additional load, the Western Power process follows a consistent sequence.

This guide explains the full Western Power workflow used across Perth and Western Australia, and how PEEC manages the entire process for you.

Western Power has different application types depending on your project:

  • DQA (Developer Quotation Application) – for subdivisions, grouped dwellings, duplex/triplex/fourplex.

  • Upgrade or Connection Application – for extra load, new meter positions, switchboard upgrades.

  • Relocation / Undergrounding – moving existing infrastructure or placing overhead into underground.

  • Substation or UDS Design – for larger developments.

We review your project and identify exactly which application is required.

Western Power requires detailed engineering information before they will assess a project.

PEEC prepares all required documentation, including:

  • Load breakdown & maximum demand report

  • Single Line Diagram (SLD)

  • Site plan showing meters, consumer mains & distribution

  • Western Power-compliant subdivision electrical design (if applicable)

  • Photos, existing network checks, power pole locations

  • Technical drawings for UDS, LV or HV connections

Submitting the correct documents is critical—incorrect paperwork causes automatic rejection and delays of 4–8 weeks.

Once your design is completed, we lodge the application directly with Western Power.

What Western Power checks:

  • Network capacity at transformers and LV feeders

  • Compliance with AS/NZS 3000

  • Compliance with Western Power Network Standards

  • Whether upgrades or network extensions are required

  • Safety clearances and metering requirements

Need a Fast Western Power Application?

PEEC prepares:

  • DQA submissions

  • Load calculations

  • Single Line Diagrams

  • Subdivision electrical designs

  • Metering upgrades

  • Underground power applications

We ensure the application is correct the first time, avoiding delays.
